Flor de Copan cigars are made by hand in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras. This hillside region near Guatemala is where Mayan Indians once grew tobacco and it remains a key tobacco-farming region in Honduras.
The tobacco used for these cigars is of Cuban origin (Vuelta Abajo region), brought to Honduras in 1962 and since grown in Santa Rosa, El Paraiso and Santa Barbara. The cigars are made in the Flor de Copan cigar factory once responsible for Zino, Feliipe Gregorio and Don Melo prior to its purchase by Altadis in 1997. The factory also produces the Santa Rosa line which was born there in 1964. Output of the factory is a staggering 20 million sticks per year.
The brand is distinguished by its highly attractive packaging, cedar wrapped natural cigars and the gold rose - the "Mark of Distinction".
The natural cigars feature an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with light spice and wood flavours.
The maduro wrapped cigars offer a complex blend of rich, robust and lightly spiced flavours with a strong finish.
